Over 76 thousand dollars has been approved by the U.S. Small Business Administration for businesses in Franklin County affected by the BP oil gusher.
The SBA says it has issued close to 700 low interest loan applications across Florida to assist businesses in their recovery from the BP Oil Spill.
229 applications have been completed and $4.6 Million dollars has been approved to assist Florida businesses.
In Franklin County there have been 37 applications issued, of which 11 have been completed for a total of 76,300 dollars.
There have been 34 applications requested in Gulf County - 9 have been approved for a total of $5,000 dollars and in Wakulla County there were 4 applications requested and 2 returned, though neither of those have yet been approved for a loan.
The SBA Business Recovery Centers are still open in Apalachicola, Crawfordville and Port St. Joe to help small businesses and most private non-profit organizations.
The Centers are located at the Apalachicola Bay Chamber of Commerce office located at 122 Commerce Street in Apalachicola, at the Economic Development Council office at 406 Marina Drive in port St. Joe and at the Wakulla Agricultural Center in Crawfordville.
The centers are open from Monday through Friday from 8 in the morning to 5 in the afternoon.
