Today is the deadline for shrimpers to apply for USDA assistance

Today is the last day for shrimpers to apply for assistance from the USDA’s Farm Service Agency for the Trade Adjustment Assistance Program for 2008 shrimp.
 
The program provide technical training and financial benefits to eligible shrimpers who have been adversely affected by foreign competition.
 
The assistance is available for shrimpers across the southeast including Florida, but the application deadline is today.
 
The application is available on-line at www.fas.usda.gov or just call the Farm Service Agency at 850-997-2072 for more information.
