Franklin County unemployment fell in December


            Unemployment in Franklin County fell to 9.4 percent last month after spiking to almost 10 percent in November.

468 people were looking for work in December, that’s 24 fewer than the month before.

The statewide unemployment rate last month was 11.6 percent while 52 of Florida’s 67 counties had unemployment rates of 10 percent or and above.

In Gulf County unemployment remained stable at 11 percent with 718 people looking for work – in Liberty County the unemployment rate fell to 7.7 percent with 297 people looking for work there.

Wakulla County’s unemployment rate fell from 8.7 to 8.4 percent with over 1359 people looking for jobs in that county.
