Franklin County had a record number of visitors in January.
Franklin County Tourist Development Council Director John Solomon reported this week that tourist tax collections for the month of January was nearly 116 thousand dollars.
That is over 61 thousand dollars more than was collected in January 2020 – an increase of over 112 percent.
Its the most ever collected during the month of January, and the largest 1 month increase ever in any month.
Solomon said the coming months are also looking very good when it comes to visitor numbers.
