Front doors of courthouse to be permanently closed for security's sake

Beginning December the 1st you won’t be able to get in to the Franklin County Courthouse through the front doors any more. The county is currently installing a new security system at the courthouse which will change the way the public enters the building. Instead everyone will have to enter through the back door closest to the courthouse parking lot. The county will construct a sidewalk along the west side of the courthouse to make it easier to get to the back door. The rear doors will be manned by deputies to provide extra security for the courthouse. The county will also put signs at the bottom of the courthouse steps to keep people from walking up the steps to try the front doors.
