Patronis named to Florida Boating Advisory Council

Representative Jimmy Patronis, who represents Western Franklin County in the state legislature, has been appointed to serve on the Florida Boating Advisory Council. The Boating Advisory Council makes recommendations to the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission and the Department of Community Affairs regarding issues affecting the boating community.

Representative Patronis said that Florida has been losing marine related jobs to other states, and as a member of the Advisory Council he will bring his economic development background to the table to help ensure that we concentrate on getting Florida’s economy back on the right track.

The boating industry in Florida generates nearly $17 billion dollars in business and impacts our gas sales, convenience store sales, jobs, and tourism. He said he will be the voice pushing for opportunities to increase marine related jobs in Florida.
