ATLANTA - The U.S. Small Business Administration is reminding disaster victims that
December 6 is the filing deadline for federal economic injury disaster loans. The SBA declared
a disaster because of the Excessive Rainfall that occurred from November 11, 2009 through
December 23, 2009. These loans are available to Florida applicants located in Bay, Calhoun,
Escambia, Franklin, Gadsden, Gulf, Holmes, Jackson, Leon, Liberty, Okaloosa, Santa Rosa,
Wakulla, Walton and Washington County.
Under this declaration, the SBA’s Economic Injury Disaster Loan program is available to eligible
farm-related and nonfarm-related entities that suffered financial losses as a direct result of this
disaster. These loans can be up to $2 million with terms up to 30 years. Interest rates are
4 percent for businesses and 3 percent for non-profit organizations. Agricultural producers,
farmer and ranchers are not eligible to apply to SBA.
