The board is asking that there be no increases in budgets this year and that includes no raises for county workers.
The board said it does realize the county may have to buy some new equipment for some departments.
If a department does need money for new equipment, the board said the department heads will have to make their requests on a case by case basis.
The board said it expects a very challenging budget process this year – commissioner Pinki Jackel said she expects it to be tougher than last year.
Commissioner Sanders said the board will have to make tough decisions this year about essential services versus non-essential services as well as quality of life issues
