County commissioners gave their approval Tuesday for a county solid waste employee to stay off the job longer to recuperate from recent injuries.
The board agreed to allow Miss Link Carroll, who is a secretary for the solid waste department, to stay off the job into April even though her family medical leave ran out last month.
Miss Carroll was injured in a car accident last November and has been away from work since then.
County workers are given 12 weeks of family medical leave.
Solid Waste Director Van Johnson said Miss Carroll is expected back on March the 21st – the board agreed to keep her position open for her until at least April the 5th.
