Franklin County may need more sidewalks.
County commissioner Bevin Putnal has asked that the county look for money to install sidewalks along Otter Slide and Wilderness Roads and Avenue A in Eastpoint.
Mister Putnal said that as gas gets more expensive more people are walking and it’s dangerous to have them on the road.
The problem is that there is no money for the project and it could take years if the county has to wait for a state grant.
County planner Alan Pierce said he will look at funding sources and report back to the board if he finds anything.
