Highway patrol was busy over Memorial Day

The Florida Highway Patrol was busy over the Memorial Day holiday.

Troopers issued more than 14,400 traffic citations during the four-day holiday.

They also arrested 163 arrests drunk drivers and wrote more than 5,500 speed tickets and 2,700 tickets for seat belt violations.

And they weren’t only writing tickets – troopers also assisted nearly 3400 drivers who needed help over the holiday.
