Florida’s Agriculture Commissioner Adam Putnam will take part in an oyster relay in Wakulla County on Thursday.
There will also be a few other VIP’s at the event including U.S. Representative Steve Southerland and Florida Senator Bill Montford.
The relay will allow oystermen to move about 22 thousand bushels of oysters from “restricted” areas to waters classified as “conditionally approved” or “approved.”
The relay will allow the oysters to cleanse themselves so they can be harvested in the future.
The relay will be held from Rock Landing in Panacea – Commissioner Putnam will be there from 9:45 till 1.
