Recent cold snaps increase the chance of wildfires

Those recent cold snaps that just went through the state has increasing the potential for wildfires.

Low temperatures create plenty of dead and dry vegetation that feeds wildfires.

Florida was also spared any major storms through the hurricane season which left state drier than normal.

During these weather conditions, even small sparks can ignite larger wildfires.

The state is reminding people to take precautions to protect their homes - Roofs and gutters should be free of all vegetation and debris.

Keep the area around your home clean and landscape the area using plants with low flammability and within 30 feet of the house keep the area mowed and watered and keep all debris and brush picked up.
