Franklin County seeks state grant to repave County Road 67 in Carrabelle

The County has agreed to request state money to repave a portion of County Road 67 in Carrabelle.

The Florida Department of Transportation is accepting one application from each of Florida’s 67 counties to be funded through the County Incentive Grant Program.

The county has agreed to request the re-paving of County Road 67 from Highway 98 to North of Lake Morality.

That section of road has not been re-surfaced in and is in poor shape.

It also meets all of the requirements of the state grant in that it serves as a hurricane evacuation route and helps relieve congestion from the state highway system.

The grant request will have to be made by August the 1^st and it could be months before the county knows if the grant is approved.
