St. George Island Fire Chief Jay Abbott reported that a
tornado crossed St. George Island this morning at about 10:30. He
said the tornado crossed the area of the Plantation called Resort
Village. There were no injuries but there was some damage.
Jay said at least 4 homes suffered roof damage and 3
trees were knocked down. There was also some damage to the tennis
courts in that area.
