Local authorities are investigating the death of a Georgia woman whose body was found Thursday in a submerged SUV off the Timber Island Boat Ramp.
The woman was identified as 77-year-old Judy Cooper of Tifton, Georgia.
The Sheriff’s Department does not suspect foul play – they do not know whether she purposefully or accidentally drove into the water.
The vehicle was found early Thursday morning, and Miss Cooper’s body was discovered after the vehicle was pulled from the Carrabelle River.
The body of Cooper’s cat was also found inside the vehicle.
The Florida Department of Law Enforcement was called to the scene to help with the investigation.
