The Friends of the Franklin County Library have announced the recipient of the 2024 Eileen Annie Ball Scholarship.
The scholarship was awarded to Zac Cabrera of Apalachicola who plans to finish his AA at Gulf State College before transferring to Florida State University.
The scholarship aims to assist hardworking students who strive to improve their lives in unique and meaningful ways.
The Eileen Annie Ball Scholarship was established to honor Eileen Annie Ball, a founding member of the Franklin County Public Library who dedicated herself to supporting the children of Franklin County.
Besides the annual scholarship, the friends of the Franklin County Public Library provide funding for the Summer Reading Program as well as many other library programs for children, adults and families throughout the year.

Individual memberships are available for $20 a year and family memberships are $35.
